Charles Masters, a 33-year-old Nashville man was jailed Friday after he allegedly murdered his brother with a sword, then laid next to his brother's body for several days hoping that the brother would "wake up."
According to Metro Nashville Police, officers received a call from Masters around 10:30 p.m. stating that he had a dead body in his apartment.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found the body of 28-year-old Jordon Masters on the living room floor. His head was nearly severed off, and he had multiple lacerations on his body.
When officers spoke with Masters, he made several remarks that led police believe he was responsible for his brother's death. He stated that he had been laying with his brother's body for several nights, praying that he would miraculously wake up and everything would go back to normal.
Police believe Masters stabbed his brother to death with a sword during an argument. The sword was then removed from the apartment.
Masters was booked into the Metro Jail and charged with criminal homicide. He is being held in lieu of a $750,000 bond.
