Felix Martinez charged with molesting 12 year old daughter. |
Felix Martinez, a 36-year-old New Mexico man was charged last week with repeatedly molesting his 12-year-old daughter beginning when she was just 5 years old.
According to the Otero County Sheriff's Office, an investigation was launched on July 20 after it was reported that a juvenile girl from the Tularosa area had run away from home.
Investigators found the 12-year-old girl in the Dog Canyon the next day and learned that she was a possible victim of sexual abuse.
After questioning the girl further, detectives obtained and executed a search warrant on Martinez's home. It was there investigators say enough evidence was obtained to charge him with a long list of sexual crimes.
Martinez was originally charged with four counts of first-degree criminal sexual penetration of a child under 13 years of age.
After completing a more thorough investigation, the Sheriff's Office amended the charges to include seven counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of children under the age of 13, eight counts of second-degree manufacturing of sexual exploitation of children under 13 years of age, eight counts of fourth-degree possession of images of sexual exploitation of children under 18 years of age, four counts of third-degree incest, one count of third-degree sexual exploitation of children between 13 and 18 years old, and two counts of third-degree child abuse.
All of Martinez's children have been removed from the residence. The mother of the children is believed to be deceased.
